Shopping at Walgreens can bring in HUGE savings for you and your family. For those of you not familiar with saving at Walgreens, the wonderful thing is that their weekly ad almost always has store coupons, meaning you can combine (also known as “stack”) them with your manufacturer’s coupons for even bigger savings! Check out this article for more on stacking. There are some great blogs out there that also offer Couponing 101 tips for beginners. I suggest reading a few of these to educate yourself on the ins and outs of couponing. Couponing 101 from Clever Couponing & Walgreens 101 from “Cents”able Momma.
Couponing to Disney also has a great break down of this week’s deals listed on her site. I *highly* recommend heading to her site to see this week’s deals because you can click the box next to each deal you are interested in and then print a list of everything you’ll need to bring in order to walk away with items for super cheap or even free!
So! Here are the deals I got at Walgreens this week and how I got them.
From the top of the picture working down
4 Corner Office legal pads:
Original price, $1.19 ea.
– Marked down to $0.79
– In ad coupon = $0.29 ea.
Total price for 4: $1.16 (That’s less than the original price of one!)
Multipurpose printer paper:
Org. $3.79
– In ad coupon
= $2.99
Big envelope that says “Poster Size”:
This is my free 8×10 photo from the online 8/15 only deal! ($2.99 value for $0.00)
Covergirl Lash Blast Mascara:
Org. $7.79
P&G 8/15 $1.00
= $6.79
(I learned a lesson here, when Walgreens offers an instant coupon and you try and use a manufacturer’s coupon, the smaller discount wins.
Oh well.)
Right Guard Deodorant:
Org. $4.49 ea.
-B1G1 Walgreens Sale
-$3/2 printable coupon
= $1.49 for 2 (or roughly $0.75 ea)
Colgate toothpaste:
Org. $3.99
-Marked down to $1.99
-$1/1 from 8/8 SS
= $0.99
Purina 6oz cat food:
Org. $1.99
-$1/1 from 8/15
= $0.99
Toy cars YMMV (2 are pictured, but I purchased 3. As you can see my son is snagging them off the table as I took the photo.)
Org. $3.79
– Clearance priced!
=$0.82 ea or $2.46 for all 3
This was a fun find! I just happened to see these cars across from the pet food aisle. Not sure if any other Walgreens have these or not. I managed to distract my son with one, and then hid the other two. I’ll be saving these for his birthday, coming up in October.
Overall, I spent $16.87! However I walked out with over $45 in merchandise! Definitely a successful trip to Walgreens.
